Dolly Parton’s greatness, to me, goes far beyond her extraordinary music. It is in the person she remained despite the fame, wealth and success. She came from poverty in rural Tennessee, from a large, humble family with little materially but rich in love, faith, resilience and family values. She never seemed to forget those beginnings. Instead, she carried them into her music and her life.

That is why her songs resonate so deeply. She sang about love, heartbreak, hardship, loneliness, hope and the struggles of ordinary people—not merely as a performer, but as someone who understood them. Her music gave dignity to people who were often overlooked.

Her compassion seemed to flow naturally from her upbringing. Even at the height of her success, she retained a remarkable warmth, humility and generosity, particularly toward children, the poor and those in need.

I admire Dolly Parton not simply because she became a great musician, but because success never made her forget where she came from. She turned her humble beginnings into music (Coat of Many Colors) that comforted millions and a life that continues to inspire.

For me, that is her greatest song: the sound of a good heart that never forgot its roots.

My fellow Obidient, with all due respect and without any intention to offend you, I believe you should reconsider campaigning for @PeterObi Peter Obi in the Hausa language when you are not indigenous Hausa.

This was one of the mistakes we made in 2023. We have many Hausa-speaking Obidients and supporters who are more naturally positioned to communicate the message in Hausa and connect with the people at the grassroots which we are already on.

This is not about who supports Peter Obi more. It is about political optics, authenticity and strategy. When a non-Hausa person campaigns in Hausa, it can sometimes create the wrong perception and may become a political red flag, regardless of our good intentions.

We have many Hausa brothers and sisters who genuinely support Peter Obi. Let them take the lead in Hausa-language campaigns, while you support them, coordinate with them and contribute in other effective ways.

I say this as a fellow Obidient, respectfully and in good faith. We must learn from 2023 and be more politically strategic this time.

Today, I must bring to the attention of all Nigerians an alarming act of political intimidation. As the NDC candidate for Surulere 1, alongside Mr. Peter Obi and other NDC supporters, I was dismayed to see over 50 of my big campaign banners removed by the APC-led Lagos State Signage LASAA. This was carried in their truck with security escorts.These banners, placed in public spaces, were taken down while APC banners remained intact.
Their spokesperson of the LASAA told me that the poles were lagos government property and it has been assigned to “ Outdoor Practitioners”
They claim to take it Alausa, only for me to discover this evening that my banners are hidden somewhere in the surulere Local Government Area in onilegogoro

I ask: what right does the signage agency have to silence us during this crucial election season? INEC has lifted all bans to ensure free campaigning, and we will not accept this bullying. Meanwhile, Barakat,s banner is still intact , Fuad,s posters are all over the place
I call on all Nigerians to see what the APC government is doing to us and to question why they fear a fair contest.

I also call on the national leadership of the NDC to investigate this intimidation and demand that APC stop this bullying of opposition parties.
