gl hf. at a certain point, the distance between my mum’s level of maturity/virtue and my own growth became asymptotic; somewhere around my late teens/early 20s, aka physical/financial independence 😅
if you’re like me, it might even be the case that you eventually superseded your own mother’s “max” maturity/virtue level, and the mother/daughter roles flipped somewhat…which brings on new, exotic problems! no advice to offer at this time, but you have my sympathies!

@selentelechia the pressure cooker isn't necessary, of course -- i just find that i'm more likely to overcome 'chore inertia' if it's relatively 'hands-off'. standing over a stove and stirring is a luxury when you're trying to wrangle 3 children. that said, a casserole dish + oven will suffice.

i tend to have v spiky/stochastic executive function, so ymmv, but: instant/pressure cookers have been a godsend bc forgetful. even with prep you can cook complete meals in ~15-60 mins (throw in whatever protein you want -- [ground beef, chicken breasts] + some stock, seasonings and veg, then finish with rice/legumes/pasta)
