@championswimmer Conducting interviews at cafes have been in vogue since I can remember. I hired an employee in 2007 after interviewing her in a cafe as I didn't have an ofc in that area and we wanted her to feel at ease as she came with her infant son.
Some People waste time everywhere IMHO.

Employment offers gets both ways. Oftentimes the candidates refuse job offers, rarely companies refuse to onboard.
It's a good lesson for candidates to understand that market forces dictates their jobs, they should expect what they give i.e. non-commitment
