This week in my UI/UX learning journey, I worked on the Definition Stage.

For my Habit Tracker App project, I created an As-Is User Journey Map, identified a core problem statement, and developed 5 How Might We questions.

One thing I learned is that understanding the user's problem is just as important as designing the solution. Mapping the user's journey helped me clearly identify where frustration occurs and why it matters.

I’ve been learning UI/UX design and exploring how digital products are designed with users in mind.

So far, I’ve worked on user research, interviews, personas, empathy maps, competitive analysis, and UX heuristics, which helped me turn user problems into design insights.

This week, I did a competitive audit on apps like Habitica, Loop Habit Tracker, and Todoist. I noticed that most apps focus on streaks and tracking but don’t support users well when motivation drops or habits are missed.

One thing that stood out to me is how important it is to understand users before designing solutions. Creating a persona and empathy map from real research helped me see design from the user's perspective.
