“Anybody can become angry — that is easy, but to be angry with the right person and to the right degree and at the right time and for the right purpose, and in the right way — that is not within everybody's power and is not easy.”

if you’ve only ever read from japanese male authors like haruki murakami and osamu dazai, i IMPLORE you to read from female authors like mieko kawakami, banana yoshimoto, sayaka murata and hiroko oyamada and see how people can write thought-provoking novels without misogyny

“In order to think, speak, write, work, exist in another way, we felt we had nothing to lose by trying everything. 1968 was the first year of the world.”
