first week sales..? why latto acting like she did cardi a favor by doing that remix. if that’s the case why your album sales ain’t poppin? why is it only doing 34K
Y’all not gonna discredit Cardi B for holding herself accountable. She publicly apologized for a leaked call, offered a bag, and even gave Latto another apology after she gave birth all while managing a busy schedule.
@kairimaximoff@frankysmystic@CirocGalore Okay..? They both got hits in and my comment still stands, ciroc did good for having to fight one of the heavy hitters fresh out the gate. She did better than almost any other person that fought Lex.
⬆️🎧 Cardi B’s “AM I THE DRAMA?” (1.9M) was the most-streamed female rap album yesterday on Spotify, surpassing Latto’s “Big Mama” (1.7M), which was released 2 days ago.
What do you think Latto’s source of income is?
No shade, but Cardi earned her spot.
Out of all the girls that came after Nicki, she's one of the few who was actually rapping BEFORE the fame, BEFORE Love & Hip Hop, BEFORE the industry checks. She had people reciting her lyrics word-for-word before she was CARDI B. She was building a fanbase before most of these girls even knew they wanted to rap.
Meanwhile, y'all downplay her while hyping girls who decided to become rappers last Tuesday and built their careers off looks, trends, viral moments, and industry pushes.
And please spare me the "writers" discourse. The way y'all act like Cardi is the ONLY female rapper who's ever gotten help in a studio is pure delusion. The standards always change when it comes to her.
The thing that always gets me is no matter who's trending, who's dissing, who's dropping, or who's being pushed... somehow the conversation always circles back to Cardi.
Almost 10 years later and she's STILL the one y'all compare everybody to.
That's why she's hated. Not because she's "untalented" but because she's a threat.
Pitchfork gives ‘BROWN’ by Chris Brown a score of 1.3, accompanied by a one-sentence review:
“Chris Brown’s soulless, hit-chasing new album doesn’t justify his return to the public eye.”
