CUH ED nursing triage staff went 'live' today on iPMS, with a frailty trigger to identify every frail older adult over 75 years. Thanks to @DrLizMoloney and @CRFC for your hands on support and stellar research. Making the care of frail older adults a CUH/MUH priority in 2024.
I’m walking 100 miles this September to raise much needed funds for Women’s Aid. Any support would be so appreciated and will help ensure that generations of women and children in Ireland are free from the terror of domestic violence. #WalkForWomen https://t.co/3hEk28vFxi

@Rheum2improve Interesting Laura! I wonder whether those med student's gender-specific perceptions have changed now in 2022? I only ever had one honours viva and was aghast because it meant I wouldn't be first to Hartigans for the free drink. 😅 That was my priority back in the day.
🗣3 key messages…
1️⃣ mortality is almost halved if seen by a geriatrician soon after injury.

Frailty is not the same as disability nor comorbidity nor far less chronological age. It is however assoc with mortality, LOS, outcomes. Seems like something an Emerg doc would want to know about, right? @muscedej@CAEP_Docs@CFN_NCE@theGEDC
1. An NCHD has often been trained for up to 20 years.
2. We loose them in their droves.
3. They have phenomenal skill.
4. We should do a better of job of minding them to make them want to work here.
