@SkiddoHoe@bornposting Portal does take place in the same universe as Half-Life though, Black Mesa is mentioned once in the first game and a bunch in the second, and HL2 Episode 2 mentions Aperture
@ssjgssjgojira4 Do you have any idea how embarrassing it is for you to get this upset over this? ๐ญ Relax, don't get so worked up, we are talking about a video game, take a breath
@ssjgssjgojira4 I am struggling to pin down what you are complaining about exactly. You are saying the message is too blatant and unsubtle, I am saying "the message you are told openly is not the true message", and you are getting pants shittingly angry lmao
@ssjgssjgojira4 I think your problem is that you can't think more deeply than what you are told. Hinako's feelings on this matter lead her to kill everyone in her family in the first ending. That isn't presented as a good thing in the game, but you seem convinced that it is because she said so?
@ssjgssjgojira4 She is a teen girl in rural 1960s Japan, is she supposed to feel positive about it? Her father abuses her mother and her sister got married off and left forever. Its not like this stuff is supposed to be subtext, her feeling bad about these things is literally the story
@croftsblade I can understand the diary overexplaining stuff I guess, but the rest just seem like they are thematically linked to the story of the game? Would you rather they make stuff unrelated? And even the diary entries are mostly just Hinako's personal feelings about everything.
@DiscussingFilm There are a billion games with actual stories and instead all of these studios really want to adapt Minecraft and Arc Raiders and The Sims
@ImTaraBelle@BlackLanterrn I don't even really mean that this is the MAIN issue with later AHS, but it is pretty emblematic of the problem. The new seasons are mostly just excuses to do another witch or ghost plot for the 800th time
@ImTaraBelle@BlackLanterrn I liked Roanoke a lot. I just mean that the theming is muddled compared to something like Asylum or Freakshow, that can be described pretty concisely and can be understood from their title. They used to have clear horror concepts. Not anywhere near as bad as "Delicate" though
