it’s really disappointing that mingyu accepted the drink, and i hope it doesn’t happen again. thank god nothing bad happened, but this shouldn’t be normalized :(( it’s never okay to accept unsealed food or drinks from strangers even if they’re fans. boundaries exist for a reason, and mingyu, as a grown man, should know better. it’s for his own safety after all. i hope mingyu and the other members learn from this so it can be avoided in the future.
to the fans, please don’t try doing this again. even if your intentions are good, this can easily set a dangerous precedent and put the artists at risk. know your limits — fan etiquette exists to protect both you and them.
@pledis_17@pledis17_STAFF please remind your security team to stay alert and mindful in situations like this. the artists are often focused on performing and hyping people up and may get carried away, which is why security should step in to maintain boundaries.
and to be clear, this shouldn’t be turned into a “gotcha” moment against mingyu. he made a mistake and it’s okay to call him out, but from a place of care, not hate. he genuinely loves fans, and i’m sure he’ll listen and learn from this. :)
honestly if you're being paid to protect the artists, you deliberately failed to do so the moment you handed him the drink without checking what's inside. also, i know he gets very excited and hyped and there's multiple instances of him showing trust at carats by always trying to be as closer as possible (yes there are a lot of times that this has happend) but consuming a drink so easily from a stranger, even from a fan, isn't something he should do. i really hope he hears the fan's sentiments on this because everything is valid.
fan's concerns for mg are rooted out of love. bc if they don't care, they won't mind what happens to him right? i just think we should think twice in what words to utter bc i've also seen some below the belt tweets aiming at mg. he's a grown man. he listens. he's positive. he can handle this.
