There are 2 clear ways to get rewarded in life:
1) Do things that are technically difficult
2) Do things that are emotionally difficult
Which option do most people avoid and is easier to get rewarded from? Choose that one.
Goals are easy to talk about. Standards are what you actually live.
Most people think they have a goal problem. They don’t. They have a standards problem.
A goal is something you aim for. A standard is what you’re willing to accept from yourself on a daily basis.
If your results aren’t where you want them to be, it’s not because the goal is unclear.

Whatever you tolerate becomes your standard.
Not once. Not when you’re at your best. But consistently.
Every time you cut a corner, avoid something you know matters, or let yourself off the hook… you’re not “having an off day.” You’re lowering the bar.

How much better could things be for you if you weren’t attached to your old identity?
More importantly, are you willing to temporarily give up the comfort of how things are now for the potential of how things could be?
Impostor syndrome is not a flaw in you or your skill; it's what happens when you're operating at your edge.
If you want to be elite, accept that truth.
The biggest thing stopping you from giving up who you are for who you need to become is ego.
The moment you decide to accept that a part of growth requires shedding old identities is when you make room for true positive adaptation and rapid growth.
Growth isn’t a linear process and you’ll need to give something up to get something new.
It could be some of your free time, your resources or even your sense of confidence as you’re trying something new.
Not accepting that reality will leave you frustrated and stuck.

The final section of the audiobook is built around one shift. Playing to win instead of playing not to lose. My editor tried to cut it. I stood my ground. [Thread]
This is the concept that lands hardest with most founders.
The internal war between who executes and who protects.
Most high performers know the feeling. They just don't have language for it yet.
