One of the great tragedies of our time is how thoroughly the headscarf has been "Islamized" in the public imagination. A woman covering her hair is now seen almost exclusively as a marker of the strict Islamic dress code. See any Woman wearing a head covering and the mind immediately thinks of Islam, and from there to the assumption that it is a symbol of women's oppression.
What gets lost is that nearly every culture in the world once had its own rich tradition of headwear and veiling for women. A century ago it was simply normal. Yet people are now walking away from that heritage for no better reason than its association with another group, and some have come to view it with open hostility.
@anonbuthuman I don't hate her, but I'm really unimpressed. And I think I'm the only one, I haven't seen anyone else with my disposition towards her.
I find Sweeney better than Daddario, but even she's only a little more than mid imho.
@anonbuthuman I can't imagine liking anything else than her eyes, and I know complete nobody j33tas on ig with 20-30.000 followers and just as magical green eyes.
This idea is present everywhere in one shape or the other: Israel, of course, but also Sri Lanka, China, Japan, Rome as we see here...
Jew-haters should make peace with the fact that people narrating themselves tend to both criticise and flatter themeselves.
@XKecharitomene@AdinHaykin1@TheBabylonBibi I know who he is, it's that you're retarded.
What do you think is the text saying by "When Balaam looked out and saw Israel encamped tribe by tribe" in Numbers 24:2?
@XKecharitomene@AdinHaykin1@TheBabylonBibi The patriarch of the Israelites and specifically the father of the twelve patriarchs of Israel. He acquired the name Israel in Genesis 32:22-31.
That's why Jacob and Israel are synonyms, both for the individual and the people that came out of him.
@XKecharitomene@AdinHaykin1@TheBabylonBibi To give you an idea of how it works:
"Edom will be conquered;
Seir, his enemy, will be conquered,"
Edom and Seir are more synonyms, because Mount Seir is a location of Edom. It's simply about non-repetition.
It really is true that functional illiteracy is through the roofs.
@XKecharitomene@AdinHaykin1@TheBabylonBibi That's synonimous with the Israelites, it isn't an individual.
“How beautiful are your tents, Jacob,
your dwelling places, Israel!"
"A star will come out of Jacob;
a scepter will rise out of Israel."
"A ruler will come out of Jacob
and destroy the survivors of the city.”
@cybrludite@SwannMarcus89 No, it's really not. We're perfectly able to stand up to immigrants, and our left isn't nearly as insane and sectarian as yours. Mostly because it's still local, instead of being an affairs committee for resentful middlemen minorities.
Of course it still needs to be terminated.
@ESennesh I have the perfect harmonisation between the Bundism they fetishise and Zionism, which is really just an invitation to those fetishizing the former in 2026 to shut the fuck up:
if Bundism say the Jews belong to their countries, then Israeli Jews belong to Israel.
@XKecharitomene@AdinHaykin1@TheBabylonBibi It clearly says Israel is encamped tribe by tribe, we are talking about the People of Israel that had fled Egypt, not the patriarch Jacob/Israel.
@XKecharitomene@AdinHaykin1@TheBabylonBibi Jacob is not mentioned in Numbers 24, he had been dead for generations by then. Although it would do no good to your sorry excuse of an argument even if he was mentioned.
Israel is another name for Jacob, and Jacob is the patriarch of the People of Israel.
