I love how this perfectly represents their last relationships. She was with a rock, something stable. Boring, but stable and complacent. She wasn’t aware of the fact the rock was hurting her because it was doing absolutely nothing (exactly), so she sprayed herself thinking she was the problem. The other character is actively witnessing how much the cactus is hurting him but is still determined to keep the relationship going, even when he isn’t the issue and he knows that. He sprays the cactus because he knows how much he was being hurt. and then they find each other like 🥹🥹
