Your ambassador threatened to behead the Japanese Prime Minister.
You call that respectful dialogue?
Other countries: note this shameful backsliding. Japan is showing the way to deal with Beijing. They will threaten and squeal, and then retreat.
Congratulations Sanae Takaichi on your landmark victory in the elections to the House of Representatives!
Our Special Strategic and Global Partnership plays a vital role in enhancing global peace, stability and prosperity.
I am confident that under your able leadership, we will continue to take the India-Japan friendship to greater heights.
@takaichi_sanae
Japan just sent an unmistakable signal.
In the latest House of Representatives election, Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and the LDP-led coalition secured a landslide victory, crossing the threshold for long-term, stable governance, and possibly approaching 300 seats.
Just as important: the party most openly favored by Beijing suffered a crushing defeat, losing seats and political relevance. The CCP-backed bet in Japanese politics didn’t just fail. It collapsed.
This isn’t only a domestic realignment.
It marks the beginning of a new era in Asia.
For years, China was treated as the region’s inevitable center of gravity. That assumption is breaking down. Under Xi, Beijing has shifted from “partner” to problem, pushing neighbors to distance themselves.
Japan has moved the opposite way.
Under Takaichi, Japan is rebuilding defense capacity, deepening trust with the U.S., strengthening ties across Asia, and becoming something rare in geopolitics: stable, reliable, predictable.
Asia’s balance is shifting and Japan is back at the center.
