Ms Sadia Tasleem @ITeachStrategy faculty member at Quaid e Azam university and a PhD scholar at the University of British Columbia speaks on how social media activism has been an important medium for information dissemination and mainstreaming. However, the persistence of violence makes activism questionable. There is a need to diversify and sustain our engagement and solidarity at grassroots level. Pakistanis know the history of occupation and while we may not be physically present in Gaza we need to see how we can show solidarity in both the short and long term, for example, by boycotting Israeli products and providing scholarships to Palestinian students. She added that this issue can only be amplified when we also take into consideration social justice at home.
