I stared at a blank screen, not knowing where to start. There are no right words when you ask for something like this. But I'm posting anyway - because I have nothing left.

💔 My mom urgently needs open-heart surgery.

The three stents that were installed three months ago have hardly changed the situation. But now a much more serious operation is needed - a valve replacement. Doctors told us that time is not running out - there is simply no time. Every day of delay is a risk that I'm afraid to say out loud.

And this is not just a medical emergency. This is happening in Ukraine. Where missiles fly overhead. Where doctors work under air raid sirens. Where people are fighting for their lives twice - against the disease and against the war.

🔴 The surgery costs 270,000 hryvnias — about $6,500.
And my mom and I have only 2 days to raise the necessary amount.
1/6 of that money is already available. We need another $5,500.

I don't soften that number. It stands heavy and real between me and the possibility that my mom will be okay. For many, it's just a number. For me, right now, it's her life.

I come as a son. Just a son. With shaking hands and a broken heart. I'm afraid to walk into my mother's hospital room and see her struggling to breathe.
