Local trains are the lifeline of Mumbai, influencing career trajectories of so many of us. But this rise in violence on the trains, from pepper sprays to stabbing, indicates that public is running high on frustration. This is policy failure coz as people we are not like this 💔
1-7 July was a week I'll remember for a long time.
By profession.. I'm an Advocate who specialises in Real Estate.
Weather has always been my passion. But this week both worlds peaked at the same time.
Friday & Saturday were brutal. I had slept for just 50 minutes in an entire 24 hour period, didn't get one full hour. The rest was office work, deal closures, radar monitoring, media calls, forecasts and nonstop updates to family, clients, relatives, friends & on Twitter. Tried catching up on 4-5 hours of sleep the next day after barely sleeping the previous night. Woke up to missed calls and instantly wished I'd been awake to track the situation.
Alarms at 1:30 AM, 3:30 AM and 5:30 AM became routine. I woke up on purpose because it's July anything can happen to Mumbai overnight. There was no schedule. Only responsibility.
Many people see the forecasts. Very few see what happens behind them.
Every monsoon teaches something. This one taught me how much responsibility comes with people's trust.
I don't forecast because it's my profession. I do it because when Mumbai comes to a standstill, someone has to stay awake, track the weather and keep people informed throughout the night.
Back to being a lawyer every morning. Back to being a weatherman every night.
No complaints. Just responsibility.
Thank you to everyone who trusted the updates over the last week.

Dear BMC and Mumbai's politicians,
Take a hard look at Vasai Virar and learn from what's happening there. Unchecked construction across wetlands, salt pans and mangroves has turned natural drainage systems into flood zones.
Stop this building frenzy. Protect natural drains before it's too late.
Today, these scenes are from the distant suburbs. Tomorrow, they could be Mumbai's reality.

The city feels alive again! 🌧️
There is truly nothing that compares to the magic of the monsoon in Aamchi Mumbai. From the crashing waves at the promenade to the foggy skylines, it just hits different. ☕🌊
Just across Antarctica, a powerful heatwave has pushed temperatures up to 20°C above normal in the middle of winter.
A remarkable, concerning event unfolding at one of the coldest places on Earth 😓
My favourite site ❤️
I’ve been around this world three times. My favourite site? An Indian family abroad. Young kids, two young parents, taking a photograph. Their t shirts are touristy, too much luggage, don’t know all the rules, kids are loud. Which is fine. Fuck anyone who scoffs at that. They’re not jaded, they are thrilled. At some point once the photos of the kids are done, the phone is handed to the husband and wife. Or maybe the kid takes a photo of their parents. They look awkward and smile, maybe a little shy with each other in public. If you look at them long enough you realize, they worked their ass off for this, they’re maybe the first people in their family to EVER leave the country. They’re on a budget, counting every penny towards the end of the vacation. They sit in the restaurant and mom and dad make eye contact while looking at the menu prices and the kids think they can order anything. They try and get every single deal they can. Coming home means extra work, making up for this thing they planned and thought about for two, maybe four years. But right now, they’re here. Them being here is a sign of bigger things, for many more than just them.
Big smile. Click.
Some incredible news from the shores of Tamil Nadu. Our satellite-tagged Olive Ridley turtle Kayal, released at Besant Nagar, has returned not once, but three times to nest along the Chennai coast, laying 389 eggs in a single season. She travelled south and then chose Chennai again. Another turtle, Megalai, returned twice, laying 211 eggs. Science now confirms what we long believed, nesting-site fidelity is real.
The Tamil Nadu Forest Department has established 49 turtle hatcheries across 10 coastal districts. So far, 1,150 nests have been secured, protecting 1,35,304 eggs, and 477 hatchlings have safely made their way to the sea.
Yes, challenges remain. We are monitoring the coastline 24×7 through our State-level Turtle Task Force. So far, 668 turtle mortalities have been reported across the state, which we are closely monitoring and addressing through strengthened protection and coordinated action.

Amidst all the chaos, stands the tall and fragrant tree of Saptaparni. If you are in the hood, roll your windrows down and smell the magic it creates in the air. ✨
It’s the junction of Rajkumar jewellers on Linking Road, Khar West.
Navi Mumbai, remember that you are helping a city that never stopped & never complained. You will share the sky with a city that held it alone for decades.
Do it with pride.🥹✈️
