@GuntherEagleman Because not all those 170 countries have placed tariffs on the US. Australia has a FTA with the US so a reciprocal tariff would have been 0%. But that’s ok, only 5% of Australias exports go to the US so it won’t hurt Australia but instead hurt Americans (beef is the main thing)

@RepMaryMiller Australia doesn’t tariff the US. We have a free trade agreement with each other 😂😂 that 10% is GST which is a sales tax on everything regardless of country of origin Australia included 😂😂

@RepGregSteube So is the US federal government going to be placing penalties on states who charge sales tax? I think that’s only fair when alleged tariffs aren’t tariffs but are sales taxes. Australia doesn’t tariff the US. That 10% is the GST that’s paid on ALL goods and services.

@mattgaetz Can you at least tell people the true on these “tariffs”. For example the 10% Australia charges is called GST, this is applied to pretty much everything sold in Australia, it’s not a tariff it’s a goods and service tax. Why aren’t you punishing your states for charging sales tax?
