@NickKristof@vkaramurza And with no great help from Trump and his isolationist, anti-democracy MAGA crowd, I might. Especially the American Coward for the Ages, JD Vance.
@samtripoli@bourbonroad Oh, for sure, let's award Trump the Nobel Peace Prize for his illegal war of aggression of Iran! A perfect fit in this upside down, inside out world!
@JoannaRN_@DemocraticWins Yes, vote "no" to corruption on a heretofore unimaginable scale. But now we know: MAGA is capable of anything. Footnote: A tsunami of change is coming. Keep your eyes open.
@RepMcGovern@zeitgeist8888 America is over. Instead of pursuing a "more perfect union," the descendents of that noble ambition are now pursuing an intentionally less perfect union, one based on material lies and limitless corruption. Breathtakingly tragic. The end has arrived at warp speed. Perverse.
@amyklobuchar As of now, the Washington Post's website isn't even carrying this astonishing story. How Washington's paper of record, and recorder of the first draft of history, failed to report that Rome is burning.
@Franklin_Graham@LeeGimenez No, as a Christian what's important is acting like a Christian. Not hard. For all your praying, all your pompous blather, you act like a non-Christian, or a cruel Christian, at best. As I've said before, you practice faux Christianity. Laughable, if it weren't so hypocritical.
@McFaul Once again, Trump has sold out an ally and a fellow democracy. First, Ukraine; now Taiwan. He's sold them out to authoritarians, even as he's become one at home. It couldn't be worse. The country's global leadership is over--all because of Trump and his MAGA Republicans. Tragic.
@davidaxelrod@POTUS Is America now so impotent under Trump that the 3,700–3,748 active nuclear warheads it possesses as a deterrence against Russia and China warheads now useless against one theoretical nuclear weapon Iran may or may not be able to develop in X number of years?
Julia Mendel, what you are spreading here is not a “differentiated criticism”, but rather a disgusting relativization of a brutal war of aggression. While Russia is bombing Ukrainian cities, murdering civilians and hunting people with drones, you are reproducing the Kremlin's dirtiest lie: that perpetrators and victims are equally responsible.
And your thanks to Tucker Carlson makes it all even more despicable. Carlson is not a courageous journalist, but a cynical propagandist who holds microphones to authoritarian rulers and carries Putin's narrative into Western living rooms. Anyone who gives him an interview and celebrates him for it is making themselves an amplifier of the very disinformation that is intended to provide political security for this war.
No, this war is not “pointless”. He has a clear person responsible: Vladimir Putin and his regime. Russia could stop the killing today - by withdrawing its troops from Ukraine. The fact that you instead accuse the Ukrainian leadership of a lack of desire for peace is morally grotesque.
The Ukrainian people will not be betrayed by those who defend themselves. It is betrayed by people who, in the midst of terror, begin to make Kremlin stories socially acceptable and portray propagandists like Carlson as truth-finders. Your words are not a contribution to peace - they are a gift to the perpetrators and a piece of shit.
@jftaveira1993@kenklippenstein Collins doesn't understand the pain Trump has caused average Americans. Platner understands pain. He gets it. Maine voters should vote him in. Collins must go. The pain she's inflicted on this country by supporting Trump should be recalled in 2026.
@marceelias@Politics_PR Expand SCOTUS. Make DC the 51st state. Puerto Rico, too. But first expand SCOTUS. The MAGA hegemony over the court must end. Dems, are you listening? Put SCOTUS's expansion into your 2026 campaign platforms. SCOTUS has smothered American voting rights.
@SenFettermanPA@KurtSchlichter Resign, Fetterman. You disgrace the good name of American Democrats. If you really must remain in politics, officially switch over to the MAGA side.
@OperHealAmerica Could you be a more blatant delusionist? You make a mockery of Christianity. You subvert the faith. You've sold out to your president. You've become a party to the era of cruel Christians. Enjoy it while it lasts. It won't last long.
@McFaul Yes, he does. A revealing expression. He must be thinking about the 352,000 Russian soldiers he's responsible for sending into battle and losing, and the 35,00 new casualties of each month. He woes and war crimes are showing.
@anders_aslund The denial of equal representative in Congress to the residents of Washington, D.C. is an international human rights violation, according to the U.N., the OAS, and the OSCE. Shameful.
