@Rgt71Robert Worse, if one considers that the CofE has made retrograde progress since 2017 with LLF. Whoever in 2017 had to consult & register to acknowledge a couple’s love in prayer? Whoever could opt out to dissociate themselves from the CofE’s local practices of inclusion?
@ruth_hw@churchofengland ‘Othering’ 50% of the population is really quite audacious. Not noticing is reveals ingrained misogyny. Doing it repeatedly when it is pointed out betrays deep indifference. It is outrageous. Re: more impt issues, @ruth_hw - see #vile_bodies - this is integral to all the issues.
@Rgt71Robert@churchofengland@RBKC Remarkable that so little attention was given to procedure in preparing the debate that synod couldn’t vote on the amendments proposed without stymying the motion…
@swdoherty@paulfreeland For myself, I’m inclined to think that the church is in a process of continuing reception of our Lord’s teaching on marriage - which implies that it’s not so much that the doctrine is changing (or being imposed), but instead that our understanding of the doctrine is developing.
1/4 In relation to #plf, @swdoherty says: “our disagreements are at the doctrinal level… [we] … will need different doctrinal spaces to be able to follow [our] convictions with integrity.”
@swdoherty@paulfreeland@swdoherty I hope you’ll feel able to further outline your thinking on what might be needed by way of ‘separation’ between the different ‘doctrinal spaces’. As you say, it’s hard to see that a church can hold two conflicting doctrinal positions simultaneously.
- I consider the latter adiaphora, particularly in view of Anglicanism’s inherited epistemology: I don’t see any need for structural differentiation.

3/4 Thanks for the mention & compliment, Sean. It is helpful that you trace the logic of the #pg. I agree with the point on #plf, but believe that the (revealed) doctrine of the incarnation properly trumps our (constructed) theological anthropology.
Got a call from a priest of a local church who found my bag dumped into the church’s trash bin and he saw my information and contacted me. I went and met the great man who gave me the bag. They left my USB which has all my data backup 🥹😊. Can’t believe I have my backup!
There are great people in this world!
We were delighted that the Rt Revd Lusa Nsenga-Ngoy, Bishop of Willesden could join us on Saturday to lead a service of blessing and rededication of our church following the completion of our ambitious renovation project #renewal#hope#newbeginnings#churchofengland
