Red Dead Redemption 2 is objectively the worst game ever made.
Horrible gameplay systems and too much realism crap. Rockstar should’ve focused attention on Bully 2 and not this crap!!!
It looks like a damn PS2 game all the time
Ever wondered why modern apps give you soft, vague errors like
“Oops 😔 something went wrong” instead of
“CRITICAL SYSTEM FAILURE (0x911a)”?
It’s not because engineers got worse.
It’s security.
Old error messages leaked too much:
• stack traces
• internal service names
• database failures
• memory addresses
• exact failure points
That’s free recon for attackers.
A detailed error tells a hacker:
– what component failed
– where it failed
– how the system is structured
– what to target next
Modern systems deliberately lie to the user.
The real error goes to:
• logs
• SIEMs
• observability tools
• internal dashboards
What you see is a sanitized, generic message.
Why?
Because error messages are an attack surface.
If an attacker can distinguish between:
– “user not found”
– “wrong password”
– “database timeout”
They can enumerate users, map infra, and chain exploits.
So apps collapse everything into:
“Something went wrong. Try again.”
Annoying for users? Sometimes.
Safer? Absolutely.
Friendly errors aren’t UX fluff.
They’re defensive security controls.
The system might be on fire internally
but you’re not supposed to know where.
