In 1986 a guy got kicked out of every casino in Vegas for counting cards. So he flew to Hong Kong with $180,000 and started betting on horses instead.

He walked away with almost $900 million.

It was Bill Benter.

He realized horse racing was just another counting problem same math, more moving parts.

He and a partner built a computer model that estimated the true odds of each horse. If his numbers showed an edge, he bet. If not, he skipped it.

That’s the whole trick:

Expected value.

EV = p · b − (1 − p)

Only bet when the probability of winning × the potential payout is greater than the chance of losing.

What’s even crazier is that Benter once gave a 45-minute lecture explaining the math behind his system.

That recording was never supposed to become public.

And almost nobody knows it exists.

This is the lecture that professional bettors and hedge fund analysts studied.

The answer is in this video.

🚨🎙️ Carlo Ancelotti on Kylian Mbappé missing out on the 2026 Ballon d'Or to Harry Kane:

🗣️"For me, there is absolutely no debate or hesitation on this topic. Kylian Mbappé deserves to have won the Ballon d'Or tonight. And let us be clear—he didn't just earn it through what he accomplished over the past twelve months; he has been deserving of this honor for years now.

To watch a player put together a season of such extraordinary magnitude—scoring 58 goals across all competitions for club and country, finishing as the top scorer in La Liga to claim the Pichichi, breaking records as the Champions League top scorer with 15 goals, and dominating on the international stage as the World Cup Golden Boot winner and all-time leading goalscorer in tournament history—and then see him sit in that auditorium without a single individual trophy handed to him to acknowledge that dominance is simply unjust.

Something like this inevitably impacts a footballer on a psychological level. He is human at the end of the day. When you go out onto the pitch every three days, carrying the weight of the biggest club in the world and your entire nation on your shoulders, producing elite performances on the grandest stages without fail, you naturally expect that level of dedication to be rewarded. He is not sitting there trying to play a pity card or demand sympathy—he simply merited the award based on pure sporting output and individual brilliance.
Football isn't always fair, and unfortunately, merit does not always guarantee you the trophy when the votes are counted. Sometimes in this sport, good things do not happen to the people who deserve them the most.

Look, Harry Kane had an incredible goalscoring season and is a fantastic striker—there is no denying his quality or what he achieved. Congratulations go to Harry for taking the trophy home. But as far as raw impact, game-changing ability, and performance across every competition are concerned, Kylian Mbappé should have won that award tonight.

Now he has to move past this bitterness, and ensure he channels this reaction onto the pitch to keep showing everyone that he remains the premier player on the planet."

🚨 jurgen klopp on Harry Kane winning the 3026 Ballon D’or over Mbappe and Lamine Yamal.

🎙️reporter: jurgen klopp, harry kane winning the ballon d’or over kylian mbappé,what’s your reaction?

🗣️ klopp: honestly? this is becoming a joke. if mbappé loses the ballon d’or to harry kane, people have every right to question what this award has become. we are talking about kylian mbappé, a player who can destroy an entire defence in seconds, change the biggest games and make the impossible look normal.

🎙️reporter: so you believe kane doesn’t deserve it?

🗣️ klopp: i’m not saying harry kane is a bad player. he is an incredible striker. but are we seriously going to pretend that scoring goals is the only thing that matters? mbappé brings fear into every stadium he walks into. defenders change their entire game plan because of him. you cannot tell me that kind of impact means nothing.

🎙️reporter: some fans will say you’re just disrespecting kane.

🗣️ klopp: disrespecting kane? no! i’m questioning the award. because if mbappé does everything a generational superstar is expected to do and still loses, then what exactly are we rewarding? popularity? narratives? a good season on paper?

🎙️reporter: final message to the ballon d’or voters?

🗣️ klopp: if harry kane wins, congratulations to him. but don’t come back next year telling us the ballon d’or is the ultimate measure of greatness. because when the biggest names in football start questioning the credibility of the award, you cannot keep pretending everything is fine. the ballon d’or is supposed to reward the best player in the world, not create the biggest argument on the internet.

🚨Kylian Mbappé on Harry Kane winning the Ballon d’Or ahead of him and Lamine Yamal:

🗣️ Kylian Mbappé: “To be honest, I sat there throughout the ceremony and listened to everything. I barely moved from my seat because, at some point, I genuinely wanted to see whether they were going to invite us onto the stage or simply hand every award to the Spanish players!

“Every time they announced a winner, it felt like another Spanish player was going to collect a trophy. And I’m sitting there thinking, ‘Okay, let’s see how this ends.’

“At one point, Michael Olise turned to me and said, ‘Kylian, when did the Ballon d’Or become a country achievement?’

“I laughed and told him, ‘Just sit down and watch. We haven’t seen the final award yet.’

“Then Lamine won the Young Player of the Year award. Congratulations to him, because he is an incredible talent. But we were still waiting for the biggest prize of the night.

“Finally, they announced the men’s Ballon d’Or winner, and it was Harry Kane.

“Honestly, if I had to choose between Harry Kane and Lamine Yamal winning it ahead of me, I would rather see Harry win it.

“Not because I have anything against Lamine. He is a fantastic player, and I respect what he has achieved. But Harry represents something I deeply respect about football. He has worked for years, carried enormous expectations and continued to deliver at the highest level.

“Seeing him lift that trophy made me happy. I was proud of him, genuinely. But let me be clear: I didn’t travel to that ceremony to support Harry Kane. I went there because I wanted to win the Ballon d’Or myself.

“And I think people sometimes forget that. You can respect another player, congratulate him and appreciate his achievement while still being disappointed that you didn’t win.

“I sat there watching him celebrate, and part of me was happy for him. Another part of me was asking what I needed to do differently to make sure I would be the one standing on that stage next time.

“People might look at my reaction and say, ‘Mbappé should be grateful to be nominated.’ Of course I’m grateful. But I didn’t reach this level by being satisfied with nominations.

“I want to win. I want to be the best. And when I lose, I don’t suddenly pretend that winning was never important to me.

“I would rather lose the Ballon d’Or to a player I respect than win the sympathy of people who tell me I deserved it after the ceremony.”

“Harry had his night, and I respect that. But my story isn’t finished. If working harder, scoring more goals, improving my game and taking greater responsibility are what it takes, then that is exactly what I will do.

“I won’t ask anyone to feel sorry for me. I won’t complain about the result. I will go back to work.

“Because the next time I walk into that ceremony, I don’t want to sit there wondering whose name they are going to announce.

“I want to hear my own name and I want nobody to have an argument about whether I deserve it.”
