EBONYI GOVERNOR CONDEMNS DISCRIMINATION AGAINST NOUN LAW GRADUATES, URGES VC TO LEAD FIGHT

The Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Nwifuru, has called on stakeholders and Nigerians to be cautious about the restrictions being placed on law graduates of the National Open University of Nigeria, (NOUN).

Governor Nwifuru made the call Friday, 8th August, 2026 during a meeting with the NOUN management in Abakaliki.

He stated that NOUN, as a federal government university, is not only populated by accomplished professionals as scholars, but also produces sound and well-informed graduates.

The Governor charged the Vice-Chancellor of NOUN, Prof. Uduma Oji Uduma, to lead a robust advocacy against the discrimination and exclusion of the university’s law graduates from the law school.

He stressed that such restrictions undermine the credibility of a federal institution and deny qualified Nigerians the opportunity to contribute to national development.
