We wish Enda Murphy of @ucddublin the very best to lead the @itrn_ie for the next three years. Enda has been very active in transport research for many years and has big plans to make @itrn_ie bigger and better!
Many thanks to @RossAEHiggins of @UL for being Chair of the network for the last 3 years which saw the organisation of an online, a joint, and a standalone conference. Thanks for your service. We wish @RossAEHiggins the best in his transport research endeavors in @UL.
All good things must come to an end! Privileged to be Chair of @itrn_ie for last 3yrs. Thanks for support from @UL @EngineeringAtUL the @itrn committee but esp Vice Chair @BrianMcCann05. It's in very good hands with Enda Murphy from @ucddublin elected Chair. Best of luck Enda!
This project builds on previous collaborations between @UL & @LimerickCouncil and will support evidence-based cycling infrastructure design for Limerick, kid! Thanks for sharing, @Limerick_Leader.
Yesterday we hosted our inaugural UCD Transport Research Symposium in @MoLI_Museum, which presented a great opportunity to present the wide array of transport research that we are doing in @ucddublin, and for dialogue with public sector authorities and industry for collaboration
“…because they don’t see other girls cycling”. Addressing this “vicious circle”will involve more than safe infrastructure.
Interesting research from @UL lecturer, @RossAEHiggins.
Why don't girls cycle to school? There's more to it than you'd think! Just published paper from focus group findings. Thanks to all who contributed, esp @AoifeAhern1 and @tandfonline for publishing it.

Delighted with how #ITRN2023 at @atusligo_ie
unfolded: a warm welcome from @OFlynnATU, a motivational opener by @jackfchambers, great keynote presentations by Anne Graham and @HannahEDaly and 27 academic papers presented over 2 days. Check out the video. https://t.co/VeYHmZIIWk
In addition to Fogarty et al's #ITRN2023 Best Paper Award, Highly Commended Awards were given to Michelle Ball, John O'Callaghan who was supervised by @itrn_ie Vice Chair @BrianMcCann05 and to @AmayaVP & Helen McHenry. All great papers in the area of sustainable travel.
Very interesting Session G at #ITRN2023 today on transport decarbonisation, air pollution & recycling. Itrn_ie chair @rossaehiggins presented his work on the age-effect on cycling to school factors.
That’s two-in-a-row Best Paper Awards for @EngineeringAtUL & @UL at the @itrn_ie conferences! Last year Cian Collins and his supervisor Michael Quilligan & this year recents grads Billy Fogarty & Larry Kelly supervised by @RossAEHiggins won top prize! #StudyAtUL
Happy to be attending the @itrn_ie conference this year in @atusligo_ie and to support PhD researcher Aihui Hu on her presentation on contribution of communication tech in ITS to resilience of transport networks
Very interesting presentation by Matt McGuinness talking today at the #ITRN2023 conference about the Irish Automotive Sector Considerations for Recycling Electric Vehicle Lithium-Ion Batteries!
What a treat?! @HannahEDaly of @UCC presented her keynote address on “Keeping the transport sector within its carbon budget” on Day 2 of #ITRN2023. Plenty of audience engagement afterwards.
Hoping @HannahEDaly still delivers her keynote presentation at #ITRN2023 tomorrow morning at @atusligo_ie even though she’s been thanked already! Thanks also @OFlynnATU for joining us at our conference dinner!
Privileged to open the @itrn_ie Conference in @atusligo_ie this morning.
The event runs until tomorrow with some really interesting research sessions planned. Huge thanks to the organisers for the opportunity to outline Government transport priorities going forward. #ITRN2023
Congratulations to Billy Fogarty, Larry Kelly and @RossAEHiggins from @UL on winning the Best Paper Award at #ITRN2023 for their paper on “Mapping Surface Roughness for Escooters using smartphones”.
