At this point, any American citizen who chooses to stay silent about the gun crisis in America is choosing a lifetime of mass shootings for themselves and their loved ones. Full stop.
It’s hard to imagine many people having a bigger impact than Dolly Parton. Born in a one-room cabin, she earned 11 Grammys and an Emmy, built a business empire, helped millions of kids learn to read, and — as if that wasn’t enough — helped accelerate the research that led to the Moderna COVID vaccine. What a life. Michelle and I are thinking of Dolly’s family and her many, many fans.
Today marks five months since more than 160 Iranian children were killed in a missile strike on their school the day that the US and Israel began attacking Iran.
We will have a new report on this tragedy on @TheLeadCNN today.
Horrible accidents happen in war, but the White House and Pentagon have so far refused any accountability or transparency. 1/

So grateful for the moments of human connection, whether big or small or soft or profound, that are like a hug to the heart. They are truly lifelines in this journey we’re all on.
Today marks the 111th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. As we honor the 1.5 million Armenians murdered by the Ottoman Empire across modern-day Turkey, Syria, and Armenia, we must refuse to let history repeat itself.
In 2020, the military forces of Azerbaijan and Turkey attacked the Armenian population in Nagorno-Karabakh. In 2023, Azerbaijan expelled over 100,000 Armenians from Nagorno-Karabakh, continuing the genocidal campaign that had begun over 100 years prior.
On this day of remembrance, we reaffirm the right of the Armenian people — and all people — to freedom, safety, and self-determination.
Harvard has set an example for other higher-ed institutions – rejecting an unlawful and ham-handed attempt to stifle academic freedom, while taking concrete steps to make sure all students at Harvard can benefit from an environment of intellectual inquiry, rigorous debate and mutual respect. Let’s hope other institutions follow suit.
I can’t get these images out of my head. A million Russians fled the country in the last two years, many of them were @navalny supporters, and still, thousands came out. And for every person that came out, there must be 10 more who felt the same but feared arrest.
The most harrowing and heart wrenching documentary I have ever watched… But mandatory viewing for the world to see.
Our collective power is in our individual strength; we each have a role to play in ending this nightmare.
