Yesterday we asked HHS to declare a public health emergency to give providers more flexibility to increase access to health care for Washingtonians on Medicare and Medicaid during Eastern Washington’s wildfire emergency.

This will speed access to medications and medical supplies, reduce paperwork and authorization requirements, allow for alternative care settings and temporarily relax other requirements and service limits.

We look forward to hearing back from HHS soon on our request.
