Rumi was right when he said Live like the world is rigged in your favor. The second you move like you own it, reality starts bending to prove you right.
Travel temporarily removes social roles. At home you are someone's employee, partner, child, or parent.
On the road, those labels weaken. You become just a person moving through space. Therapists note that this loss of identity pressure allows people to hear their real desires for the first time. Not what's expected - but what actually feels alive.
today i learnt that romanticising your life and living a life that is aesthetically pleasing to your brain is good for your health. if you're able to use some of your mental resources to appreciate your life, this signals to your brain that you are safe thus decreasing cortisol.
In order to become a better person, you must first realize how horrible you really are. Not in the dramatic sense, but in the quiet ways you sabotage yourself, repeat unhealthy patterns, hurt people who care about you, or tolerate what wounds you. You cannot grow if you keep pretending you're innocent in the story you've created.
if you spend all day at a fish market, you’ll leave smelling like fish, even if you never touched one
but spend your day in a perfume shop and you’ll carry the scent even if you didn’t buy anything, that’s how environment works. it rubs off, whether you realize it or not. stay around complainers and everything starts to look negative. stay around excuse makers and growth feels optional but get around people who move with purpose, you’ll feel it.
get around people who live in gratitude, you’ll start to see differently. the scent of your environment will always follow you.
“To be successful at anything, you don’t have to be special. You just have to be what most people aren’t: consistent, determined and willing to work for it. No shortcuts.”
— Tom Brady
the best thing you can do for yourself is actively increase your surface area for luck to hit you. go outside, try new cafes, museums, events, take a new route home, speak to people, ask questions, side quest. the more you do, the more serendipity and synchronicity will find you.
If you work out consistently for like four months, you’re gonna start to look so good to the point where you’re gonna be addicted to working out. I promise you!!
Confidence doesn't come from believing in yourself. It comes from having done the uncomfortable thing enough times that your nervous system stops flagging it as an emergency. Because nothing is actually hard, it's just unfamiliar.
A healthy relationship will test you more than a toxic one. Because it won't let you run. It holds up a mirror and says: Show up. Communicate. Grow. Swallow the pride. It's a repeated choice to stay and work at it together. Even when it's hard and ugly. That's why real love scares people so much in this generation.
“Messi is ridiculous. 😭 He does everything right. At PSG, Neymar and I thought we were the top guys. Then Messi took 10 shots. Neymar scored 7, I scored 6… Messi scored all 10, he was just passing it to the net , and I shouted at the goalkeeper to jump”😂
