By the way.
There are 3 pillars of first party N64 games.
Starfox64
Ocarina of Time
and Super Mario 64.
2/3 are being released this year on Switch 2 as remakes.
I'd be totally fine with Nintendo also announcing an SM64 remake on the Switch 2.
I'm replaying it this week!
"Can't tell a story you skimmed".
Let's be honest here, Ocarina of Time doesn't have a deep story at all. The story is only enhanced because of context given by Nintendo welllllllll after the game released.
The story will either stay as shallow as it already is, or go deeper.
I'd love to see Navi have a more robust role in the remake. Not just as a live-tutorial thing, but more integrated. Shoot... I'd love to have my son play 2nd player and be able to control Navi to daze enemies, pick up rupees, and press buttons to make Navi said things lmao
I've never played the Zelda games before and I'm going to play through all of them in excitement of the remake announcement
are any of them skips? or do I need to play them all
I don't actually want a 1:1 Remaster. But I don't exactly want an open world. I'd love the in game areas to be super expanded though. The areas are already little hubs of content, I just want them to be bigger. Adding to the experience rather than overwhelming the experience.
They could completely overhaul everything about the game, we have no idea what direction they're planning on going.
As long as some of the fundamentals of a "classic Zelda" experience are there, this is going to be my Game of the Year easily. Doesn't matter what else comes out.
I'm super excited to see what's in store for Ocarina. That we know nothing leaves a lot on the table - is it a fully blown remake? That means Hyrule Field could be bigger and fuller. Will fishing be enhanced? Will there be more overworld puzzles to solve?
Kakariko all day. Plus Castle Town... this could be one of the best Castle Town scenes we've ever had depending on how big of a rebuild this game is. If it's a 1:1 just glow up, then less exciting.
Dungeon - Forest Temple.
@Gothalion The ONLY reason people are upset about the "lacking" reveal, is because it was leaked. This reveal would have been insane had it not leaked. Sad this is the result.
@KasaNova_KK@PaulTassi That's how you're choosing to look at it and I totally get it. But it is the same. Because that's not how price point of the subscription cost works. It's not that black and white. But I get it, no use going back and forth.
@The__Goomba Oh my god. I bought the cloud versions a month ago. Forgot how horribly the performance of them was and turned around to contact Nintendo support and returned it. Dodged a bullet lmao
@Ryan20615 Not getting much from Ocarina is a bummer, but you have to remember, prior to that reveal, it was just a rumor. Blame the leakers for spoiling that, but can't blame Nintendo. That reveal would have broke the internet today had the leakers not spoiled it.
@Ryan20615 Gotta disagree. I don't think it was by far the best or worst direct. It was very centered and everyone got a little something.
Absolutely would have loved to see more first party, more Mario.
But there were some big niche announcements.
