@PureLanguages My pleasure. I am well aware that the ability to speak more than one language is not just a skill but opens doors to new opportunities, fosters cognitive agility, and cultivates a deeper understanding of the world around us. It's a game changer. ๐
Looking forward to our Olympic themed summer French camp in sunny Grappenhall that will combine sporting activities with French language study. ๐ซ๐ท๐คพ#kidsactivities#schoolholidays#holidayclub
Places still available. Visit https://t.co/jSlmKgLPnk to register.
Language teachers are becoming a dying breed in the UK so it's good to see there are still some committed to the cause. #mfl#education#parenting

No surprise that Spaniards are last to the dinner table. Some say it's because Spain is living in the wrong time zone, CET, when it should be using GMT. Spain changed to CET after the Spanish Civil War in 1940. ๐ฒ #culture
@DavidKonrad24 I can never bring myself to throw a good book away whatever state it's in. I should really seek out a charity shop that sells used books. Knowing that the book would be passed on would make things a lot easier. #bookhoarder
I only intend to pull out the Champagne once my novel has paid me back for the hours spent toiling over my laptop. They do say that Champagne, if stored correctly, can be kept for years, even decades. That's just as well. ๐พ #booktwt#BookBoost
With reference to my previous post, perhaps I should point out to the younger generation that a typewriter was basically a word processor without a screen that could operate without power - the ultimate energy-saving hack! #WritingCommunity
@LifeStoryGuy It would be too good to turn down! Movies to books are rare but adaptations do work. The novel adds a lot of internal thoughts and details. Can be a great expansion of the movie and its characters.
Or... if you were offered the chance to turn one of your favourite movies into a book, would you worry about ruining it?
And is the argument 'the book was better than the movie' still valid for movies turned into books?

Interesting new research suggests bilingual speakers have more precise memory when working in second language. #langtwt#LanguageLearning

@PureLanguages It does seem to be the case that most Brits don't see the importance of language learning, yet one in four UK adults regret never learning a second language.
@PureLanguages Language apps like Duolingo will only take you so far. If you're set on learning a language properly you will need a tutor, for sure. That's a human tutor, of course. You're going to be using your target language to speak to real people - not bots.
Yes, I need all the encouragement I can get. It's taken me 10 years to get 8 reviews!! ๐คฏ I'm sure my novel will be a bestseller one day. But maybe not in my lifetime.๐ #TheLousyAnglophile#booktwt#BookReviews
To any writer in need of encouragement, it took 10 years, 2 unpublished novels and leaving an agent before my debut novel was published. This month itโs @Waterstones Welsh Book of the Month and @BAbooksellers Indie Book of the Month. Keep going. You will get there โฅ๏ธ

I'm reading that Duolingo has laid off the majority of its human translators in favour of AI.
I'd say language learning platforms like this have their uses, but if you want fluency in a language better to invest in a human tutor somewhere along the line. ๐งโ๐ซ๐ค#langtwt#studytwt
A great way to learn a language is by channelling your learning into your own interests. For film buffs learning French, check out the 2007 movie La Vie en Rose, the astute biopic of French singer รdith Piaf.
Marion Cotillard's performance as Piaf is reason alone to see the film.
