Vikkstar123 shares the wisest piece of advice he’s ever been given
“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together”
“I think it almost speaks a little bit to kinda a journey I’ve been on with friends, where you can get a lot done very quickly if you just kinda go for it”
“But if you want to build something that’s gonna last and does really well, you need other people to do it, you need to collaborate”

Jeff Bezos claims that in the future, you will not buy a gaming PC.
You will only rent computing power in the cloud to play games online.
He called it inefficient and predicted it won't last, saying people will instead rent computing power from the cloud, much like buying electricity today.
This is more advanced than you think
Tesla’s Texas lithium refinery is the first in North America to convert raw spodumene ore directly into battery-grade lithium hydroxide, skipping the intermediate steps the rest of the industry relies on
It went from groundbreaking to first production in just 19 months, an unheard-of timeline at this scale
The process is cleaner too:
no hazardous sodium sulfate waste, and a useful byproduct that can be turned into concrete
This single refinery can supply lithium for over 500,000 EVs per year and directly challenges China’s ~60% grip on global lithium refining
One of the biggest bottlenecks in the EV supply chain just got an upgrade

I dated a woman for three years. She had a 2-year-old son, Leo, from a previous relationship. The dad was out of the picture.
We broke up because she wanted to 'party' and I wanted to settle down.
One night, she dropped Leo off at my house at 11 PM. She said, 'I can't do this anymore. You take him. You’re better at it.' And she drove off.
I have zero biological relation to this kid. The courts told me I had no rights. But I fought. I got guardianship because she abandoned him.
I’ve been a single dad to another man's kid for 10 years. I’ve taught him to shave, to drive, and to treat women with respect—ironically, the respect his mom never showed us.
She surfaced recently because Leo is a star athlete and made the local paper. She wants front-row tickets to the game.
Leo told the coach, 'If she shows up, don't let her in. My dad is the guy in the stands wearing my jersey.'
Biology makes you a relative. Loyalty makes you a parent.

LUFTHANSA TO SELL TWO BOEING 747-8s AMID AIR FORCE ONE DELAYS
Lufthansa is set to part ways with two of its Boeing 747-8s—a rare move by one of the last passenger operators of the Queen of the Skies.
Reports suggest the aircraft may be sold to the U.S. Air Force, potentially linked to ongoing Air Force One replacement delays.
• D-ABYD (13 years old) exiting the fleet in Jan 2026
• D-ABYG (12 years old) exiting the fleet in Q3 2026
Lufthansa treats its 19 Boeing 747-8s as true flagships, operating them conservatively on long-haul missions only and avoiding high-cycle or harsh desert operations. These aircraft thus still offer decades of usable airframe margin, making them potentially suitable for the USAF.
For the USAF, airframe life matters more than calendar age—these jets still have decades of structural margin remaining.
The timing is notable: the new Air Force One program, based on two heavily modified Boeing 747-8s, is years behind schedule, with delivery now pushed to 2028 at best (originally planned for 2024).
Interestingly, two 747-8s with Boeing line numbers 1519 and 1523 were originally built for Russia’s now-defunct Transaero and were later earmarked for the Air Force One program.

The fact that we have political systems that do byzantine things like this instead of just charging a basic tax per litre of fuel to account for environmental costs (or even mileage * weight^4 for wear and tear) in a consistent way continues to frustrate me.
When accounting for externalities, policy should "tell" consumers/market what to optimize for (and how much it matters), not how to optimize for it. The latter is more intrusive, and easier to game.
