The best and worst advice I ever got:

"Always have an opinion even if you don't believe it. People will respect you for picking a side even if you're wrong."

I see why it works.

But I hate it.

People in the middle are seen as undecided when they can be thoughtfully balanced.

I think in 2022 it's time to sunset the phrases "open the kimono" and "Chinese wall" in business lingo. We're not living in Mad Men era anymore. Words have power so let's use some discretion.
