I have noted a social media post from the cs sports @Waziri_Mvurya claiming to have supported me, another lie. Through your PS @ElijahGMwangi you came out publicly to announce supporting my participation at the world skate Games, another lie because we ended up fundraising for the ticket & Accommodation. Constructive engagement is Recognising & supporting but unfortunately you did not even recognise my wins or the latter. And for my case, you did not even have to give me the funds, Recognising my wins from Benin and other wins could have been enough, everything falls to place after recognition. I have never been supported to any of the competitions by the ministry of sports, not even the African Championship. Money was approved, but hainifikii mchezaji, where is it going?? Director sports said he would help, but he did not because after asking the questions he was asking, he was not helpful, I ended up missing the events, that was not intended to support, that was pretending to help, there was no goodwill. Why did the ministry not support the world skate games despite continously announcing in public through the ps @ElijahGMwangi. I wrote requesting to know how much was approved under my name for any of my events, in which we provided the documents, kindly give us the response.
In pursuit for opportunity of competing in international competitions as a Kenyan athlete, I have encountered many challenges but I never thought, not even a single day, that the Ministry of Sports would be a challenge to Kenyan athletes. In May, the CS sports @Waziri_Mvurya lied to me on the phone that skating athletes were going to receive support only to do the opposite and even after going on national Television to announce the same lie, the Principal Secretary, Ministry of sports, @ElijahGMwangi went ahead to make a foul lie in Murang'a. What was the point of all the promises knowing very well they were lying, how long will it take for sports diversity to be actually included by the ministry. Skating sports have been sidelined by the ministry of sports in the recent years. It used to perfome very well in the past, at one point Kenya won over 30 medals at the 2018 African Skating Championships but today, the reality is unfortunate. Regardless of this, we shall keep pushing and encouraging every skater to keep up the faith. This problems will not last forever. Before December 20, 2026, like in 2025, I will guide skaters to submit 2027 financial budget to enable a majority, if supported, participate in different international Skating competitions next year including the Africa Skate Games 2027. For how long will Kenyan youths and athletes have to suffer yet the resources are available. Supporting all sports is not a favour, it is their duty
It's unfortunate we shall not make it to the World Championship 2026. I've tried everything within my control. We were not accorded the appropriate support despite my efforts. Participating in this event could have been so special for me, I wanted to gift myself and my country but it's well. This marks the end of my 2026 competition season, looking forward to 2027. Despite the ignorance and frustration, I will keep pushing skating sports with every available resource and we shall restore our dignity. Kenyan athletes cannot keep changing their nationalities because of incompetence, we must stand up against the injustices. Truth is, money was approved in my name but had a more hardworking recipient, the sad reality that faces many Kenyan athletes, frustrating our hardwork. Lets focus on 2027!
