Idk I’ve tried sharing Nanami yumeship content and it’s only made me feel more negative feelings about my craft
Not the act of yumeshipping itself but trying to turn my art into content
I haven’t posted anything for Nanami Week this year bc I realized I don’t like making my yumeship hobby into socmed content and it took me getting medicated and touching grass to realize that.
Dear writers, we need your imagination, your narrative creativity and your lively thinking. We need these to create spaces of freedom and authenticity, within which divine grace can make the promise of consolation and peace resound. https://t.co/FEmCrdQ392
@Souvie I didn’t even know the Lao diaspora hung that flag so casually until I saw them on insta 😭 my family seems to be in the minority within the diaspora that feels indifferent I suppose
If Jujutsu didn’t give everyone insane metabolisms this is what Nanami would look like
Evidence: what Nanami chooses as his dinner in the Night Gourmet audio drama
Hint: 🍞🥖🥪
Side-tangent, but related:
My problem with enemies-to-lovers, specifically het, in some fanfics (I can't speak for commercial fiction) is that it's usually thinly veiled/outright misogyny that ends up being written off as "sexual tension" or "emotional constipation".
the issue with most contemporary enemies-to-lovers romantasy is that it’s often thinly veiled (or outright) slave-master and/or colonizer romance, more often than not written by a white author. the subgenre functions to normalize fascist ideas by making them sexually appealing.
i wish more jjk fans stopped looking at the series through a powerscaling lens and understood that people can like characters based on many different factors not just if they’re strong or not
This is my biggest critique of Arcane (esp s2).
I'm sure if I rewatch s1 I'll be able to poke more holes in it now, but I felt like I was so bright-eyed watching s1 the first time and mentally making essays about the themes of class struggle and warfare in my head
my biggest problem with stories who try to remove certain types of bigotry from their stories (like arcane) is that it completely ignores the fact that the writers themselves have internalized biases that will appear in the writing. plus, it is also lazy.
