This thread is 6 years old, but the vision has taken 13 years to get here. We broke ground on Ekiti Knowledge Zone today. Honoured by @officialSKSM’s kind words for Ekiti. In all, Habbakuk 2:3.
Happy Workers’ Day
Today, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and dignity of every Nigerian worker, the backbone of our economy and the driving force behind national development. From our farmers and artisans to teachers, civil servants, entrepreneurs, and young innovators, your daily sacrifices keep our communities moving and our future alive.
As we mark this year’s Workers’ Day, it is important that we move beyond celebration and renew our collective commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for our people. This includes expanding access to decent jobs, investing in skills development, and supporting the growth of small businesses and local industries that sustain our economy at the grassroots.
For us in Ekiti North 1 (Ikole/Oye), our focus remains clear and deliberate, to build a constituency where hard work is rewarded, innovation is encouraged, and every individual has a fair chance to thrive.
We understand that sustainable development is rooted in empowering people, and we will continue to advocate for policies and initiatives that protect the welfare, dignity, and aspirations of workers.
The future of our nation will not be shaped by promises alone, but by the productivity, creativity, and determination of its people. As always, we stand with you and remain committed to building a stronger, more inclusive society where no one is left behind.
Happy Workers’ Day, your labour is not in vain.

AkinỌmỌAkin Appreciates Royal Fathers, Leaders, Constituents for Successful 3rd Aare Afolabi Ogunlayi Ramadan Lecture
On Saturday, the AOA Constituency Office was honoured to host our revered royal fathers, respected religious leaders, scholars, community leaders, and constituents at the 3rd Annual Aare Afolabi Ogunlayi Ramadan Lecture, held in Oke Ayedun, Ajoni LCDA, Ekiti State.
Now in its third edition, the lecture continues to serve as a town hall gathering for Muslim constituents, and as an important platform for spiritual reflection, intellectual engagement, and community dialogue, bringing people together to reflect on how faith, morality, and civic responsibility contribute to nation-building.
This year’s theme, “Taqwa as the Soul of Nation-Building: How Personal Integrity Shapes a United, Peaceful, and Prosperous Nation,” reminds us that the strength of any nation ultimately rests on the character of its people and the values of integrity, justice, compassion, and accountability.
We were privileged to receive profound insights from our distinguished lecturer, Dr. Musa Adebayo Idris, Associate Professor of Mining Engineering at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) and Chief Imam of the Muslim community at the university. His reflections highlighted the powerful link between personal morality and responsible leadership.
I sincerely appreciate the Patron of this lecture series, Aare Sulaimon Afolabi Ogunlayi, National Vice President of the Ansar-ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, for his enduring commitment to faith and community development.
I also extend my profound appreciation to our Chief Host, His Royal Majesty, Oba Sir Olufemi Aribisala, Orayegbotedumore, Gbot’ulu, the Alaaye of Oke Ayedun-Ekiti, for his warm hospitality. I equally thank our Special Guest of Honour, His Royal Majesty, Oba Azeez Kareem Adebanjo, the Olu of Itapaji-Ekiti; as well as His Royal Majesty, Oba Olasahinde Ilugbusi, the Elesun of Esun-Ekiti; and His Royal Majesty, Oba Adamo Babalola, the Onitaji of Itaji-Ekiti, for their presence and royal blessings.
I also acknowledge the presence of the Chairman of Ikole Local Government, Hon. Bayo Omojola, whose leadership continues to support development efforts across the local government.
Also in attendance were members of the Ekiti State House of Assembly: Hon. Femi Fatunla, Member representing Ikole Constituency I; Hon. Idowu Odebunmi, Member representing Oye Constituency II; Hon. Abimbola Christiana Solanke, Member representing Moba Constituency I; Hon. Iyabo Fakunle-Okieimen, Member representing Ilejemeje Constituency; and Alhaja Maryam Bimbola Ogunlade, Member representing Emure Constituency I, whose presence reflects our shared commitment to the progress of our communities.
Special appreciation also goes to Pastor J.B. Folorunsho, Special Adviser on Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP), and my leader, Chief Oladele Adeniyi, Board Chairman of the Ekiti State Waste Management Authority, for their presence and support.
Ramadan remains a season of reflection and moral renewal. May its lessons continue to guide us as we work together to build stronger, more united, and more prosperous communities across Ekiti North 1 and beyond.

Today, during plenary, on the instruction of the House Leadership, I was directed to serve as Acting Deputy Chief Whip for today, March 11, 2026. This is a routine parliamentary practice whenever members of the leadership are unavoidably absent due to other official engagements.
Such responsibility is typically entrusted to parliamentarians who possess a firm grasp of House rules, procedures, and legislative processes, to ensure that the business of the House proceeds smoothly and in line with established parliamentary practice. This is not the first time I have been called upon to act in a leadership capacity on the floor of the House, and I remain grateful for the confidence of the leadership and my colleagues.
Moments like this reaffirm that Ekiti North 1 (Ikole/Oye) Federal Constituency is not anonymous in the House of Representatives. By the grace of God and with the continued support of our people, we will keep striving to ensure that our constituency has a strong and respected voice in the national parliament.

@DOlusegun Tell Mr President that the account general, the ministry of education and as a matter of fact. Since the inception of @officiABAT FTIs, Federal Tertiary Institutions' arrears of wage awards and Salary's been delayed. of now, February salary hasn't been paid. It is pure cruelty
A strong statement should be made with respect to the delay in salary payments for FTIs. It is cruelty, unbearable and sad. If by 6th of March February salary hasn't been paid. And arrears of wages award owed. @officialABAT@aonanuga1956@DrTunjiAlausa
Imagine your pastor standing on the pulpit this Sunday and announcing
“Due to gross misconduct, the entire choir is suspended till further notice.”
By next Sunday, half of the choir has relocated to another church where their “gift will be appreciated.”
There was a time responsibilities were privileges.
Now responsibilities are contracts.
A time service was honour.
Now service is negotiation.
I saw a generation where correction was part of discipleship.
Today, correction is interpreted as disrespect.
Before, when a pastor said,
“Step down for a while,”
people went back to prayer.
Now when a pastor says,
“Step down,”
people step out.
This is the reason a choir member can go clubbing post on her social media handles and pastor will like...
We have moved from raising sons to managing talents and the difference is loud.
Sons can be corrected.
Talents must be maintained.
Sons stay for alignment.
Talents stay for allowance.
Sons ask, “Where did I miss it?”
Talents ask, “Who do you think you are?”
I saw a generation where you could be sweeping the church floor faithfully, and the pastor says,
“You disobeyed instruction. Don’t sweep again.”
And that alone becomes your season of brokenness, repentance, and growth.
Today, remove someone from sweeping and they remove themselves from the church. They tell you how they've helped you and your ministry....
The altar was never designed to run like an office.
It was designed to raise men.
Lord, raise sons again.
Raise men who value correction more than position.
Raise hearts that fear losing alignment more than losing platforms.
Raise servants who understand that the greatest reward for service is not payment, It is preservation.
Amen
