Call me old fashioned but I really do love traditional gender roles 😭 if my partner is providing for me, paying the bills and spoiling me, then I absolutely am packing his lunches, having him come home to a clean, comfy house, cooking dinner every night, washing clothes, etc. he provides the house, I make it a home simple🤏🏾

I got an eye test last week & was charged R2997 for a new pair of glasses.
I added blue light & photochromic (transitions in the sun) lenses which were R1000 each.
Then I chose a Polo frame because I wanted a Cateye frame - R800
Total - R5797

I’d say it was pretty reasonable.

So I went and had an eye test so I can get glasses.

The optometrist charged me R300 if I stay in their books or R600 and I take my results. Love convenience so I opted to do everything with them.

They charged me around R6000 for a new pair of glasses. But I didn't like their frames and told them I prefer buying my own and they just for them. For that they quoted me R4000. Just to fit the lenses in my frame.

Felt a bit steep so I asked a friend and just found out that I could have the lens on my own frame for less than R1500 🧐😐

I am confused. Why would the optometrist be that expensive if there are legitimate options for a fraction of the price?
