Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh!
Good morning, dear brother/sister in Islam. 🌅
As the sun rises and a new day begins, may Allah (SWT) fill your heart with peace, your steps with barakah, and your efforts with success. Start this beautiful morning with gratitude, perform your Fajr prayer with focus and sincerity, and remember that every new day is a fresh chance to draw closer to Him.
“O Allah, bless this day for me, and help me make the most of it for Your sake.”
Ameeen Ya Hayyu Ya Qayyum
I need honest opinions on this.
I have a female friend I've been very close to for over a decade. We've never dated, but we've always had a strong friendship.
Recently, I jokingly told her I wanted to marry her and that maybe we should build something beyond friendship. Deep down, I was actually somewhat serious.
She laughed and said she could never date me because we're too close, and as a husband, she wouldn't be able to take my orders. I laughed it off and said, Okay.
But truthfully, it stung a little.
Fast forward to yesterday: she went to get her hair done without telling me. Later, she sent me a short video showing off the hairstyle and jokingly told me to pay for it.
I replied jokingly, That service isn't for me, it's for your boyfriend. Let him pay for it.
Well... she didn't take it as a joke.
She got upset and started sending me long messages about it.
Now I'm wondering: did I actually do something wrong, or was that a harmless joke considering the circumstances?
Be honest.
Growing up is realizing that wanting something and having it are two completely different things. Sometimes life puts your heart in one direction and reality in another.
You smile, keep moving, and carry on, but some wishes never really leave you.
