Plus, long-haired bishounen is a Gender Vibe I’m gunning for.
I know I can look more androgynous with a short haircut NOW but I’ve done that before and it’s not the saaaame
I know my hair is getting long (like, I-can-sit-on-it, touches-my-fingertips-when-standing long) but I’ve worked out how to reliably get blue crackles of static electricity all the way down when I brush it in the dark and I’m not ready to say goodbye to my powers yet.
There’s an entire swath of amazon sellers that carry really, truly teensy little resin/plastic rubber duckies. I am staring at an entire page of them and I feel so compelled to own like a thousand.
I could have the biggest, smallest rubber duck army.
@marcrandolph My cofounders and I are building cool things that help others build even MORE cool things!
This is @itemfarm’s Orchard unit, a portable modular factory designed for retail and education. It enables entire classrooms to make stuff!
Currently sitting in my car eating an entire head of raw broccoli with ranch dressing like it’s a weird, healthy ice cream cone because self care but also fuck.
@DefectorMedia At some point you can be so smol you don’t need to land on your feet, because your weight isn’t enough to hurt on landing even at terminal velocity.
@cyantist I keep thinking of more of these, sorry for the spam! Happy to talk more about what would have helped me growing up anytime, feel free to DM me.
@cyantist ALSO. The temptation to work only on what you are good at is huge.
Knowing what weaknesses to improve, versus what can be skipped entirely.
They may have trouble finding their calling because they are good at everything they touch.
Skills and interests don’t always align.
@cyantist but also: DON’T isolate them completely from peers their age. They may already feel somewhat detached, additional layers of insulation aren’t needed. It is so, so important to know how to talk to peers who don’t have the “Gifted” label.
@cyantist Other skills important to develop for everyone but often missable or harder for smart kiddos:
Time Management
Discipline to finish things*
What ‘thinking yourself out of a problem’ deadend looks like
Healthy boundaries (self and others)
*Knowing when to stop/walk away
@cyantist Teach them to self-teach and they may find their own solutions.
I was often pushed to go above and beyond what my peers and even adults around me could do, simply because I COULD.
Having the time and space to explore my own interests would have been huge as a child.
Young Art in Santa Clara has had an Orchard since August & the customer recently shared how it’s helped her business❤️
This experience, where anyone can be an inventor, is what we’re building @itemfarm🦾
If you want to see this in more towns please RT🚀
