Criticizing small time fan creators who publish their work for free for ‘lack of representation’ or accusing them of ‘perpetuating harmful stereotypes in media’ has the same energy as harassing retail employees because corporations are setting prices too high
When u claim that a piece of art ‘romanticizes’ or ‘fetishizes’ something you have to back it up with evidence just like any other claim. You’re accusing the art of doing an action, so you need to prove that the action has been done. You also need to know what those words mean
Every minute you spend complaining about the state of certain types of fanfics in your fandom sucking could be spent writing the kinda fic you wanna see!
(Btw people write fic for free, on their own time, as a hobby.)
a lot of y'all are taking fanfics for granted, and have no idea how privilege you currently are to have such a free access to it.

every time i go viral there’s always a handful of weirdos who are like “of course a [insert random identity here] would say this” like woah i didn’t know you were making headcanons about me. do you also lay in bed at night thinking about kissing me with tongue
