im really frustrated, hurt, and sad as a basketball fan over what happened to rene and devine. like what the hell ateneo? im crying over watching videos of how loved, talented, and respected they are, yet u won't even let ur coaching staff and team speak up?

Sabi ko, dahil si Rene ay mahusay, pero walang yabang. Masipag, pursigido, at punong-puno ng pangarap. Mahal na mahal niya ang kanyang pamilya. Isa siyang batang ang tanging hangarin ay maiahon sila sa kahirapan. Isa siyang batang nangangarap na makapaglaro sa UAAP. Mahal niya ang Ateneo. Mahal niya ang Agusan. Mahal niya ang Mindanao. Mahal niya ang pinanggalingan niya. Isang batang nangangarap.

Napaisip ulit ako.

Baka kaya ganoon kasakit, dahil marami sa atin ang nakikita ang sarili natin kay Rene. Mahal din natin ang ating mga magulang at mga kapatid. May mga batang nangangarap ding makapaglaro sa UAAP. May mga batang gustong maging Atenista. May mga batang nangangarap ng mas magandang buhay para sa kanilang pamilya.

Some context: The UAAP Board imposed a UAAP LIFETIME BAN on then UST Tigers head coach Aldin Ayo for violating COVID-19 restrictions since Ayo set up a Sorsogon bubble for the training of the basketball team. UAAP Board argued Ayo exposed the team to a life-threatening situation.
