@Winged_Victory4@taste_of_tbone I’m sure you will be able to keep your phone if you choose to go. If that’s not the case come back and I will apologize. I just don’t see it being the reality
@Winged_Victory4@taste_of_tbone And in that case I am quite sure you would be able to call someone, either from getting your phone returned or using the emergency staffs. We can imagine what might happen all day long, I just don’t foresee this becoming the issue you think it will
@Winged_Victory4@taste_of_tbone I actually think it’s more ableist to suggest some people cannot manage their own disabilities without their phone. It’s more ableist to suggest disabled people don’t know how to keep themselves ok for an ELECTIVE concert for a few hours.
@Winged_Victory4@taste_of_tbone Did you know I once had to get refunds because they didn’t label my ticket as an obstructed view? Thankfully I got my money back but these things happen. As someone who’s been going to concerts since the 90s it’s possible without your phone, even disabled. Lol
@Winged_Victory4@taste_of_tbone Thankfully we as a people have survived without phones for thousands of years. Technology makes things more convenient but many people can actually last a few hours without it. There’s also emergency staff on venue were there to be an issue. Have a good one
@Winged_Victory4@taste_of_tbone Have you ever been to a concert? I never get signal at large venues, this is a very common occurrence. This is such a funny argument
@Winged_Victory4@taste_of_tbone This isn’t an issue like you think it is. You’re imaging things and unless I’ve seen an actual case against yondr for denying disabled ppl necessary medical equipment it’s a moot point. You’re imaging how this could go wrong, not how it works in practice. Don’t believe everything
@Winged_Victory4@taste_of_tbone And were that to actually happen those people would have a case on their hands! Sometimes unfortunate things happen but these seem like very rare cases and as someone who has been to many concerts with a disability this is an insane topic lol
@Winged_Victory4@taste_of_tbone Right and I’m sure those are very few and far between cases. You can also call ahead and coordinate this. It’s actually not that big of a deal thankfully not that many people need their phones during a couple hour concert where you don’t get signal anyways. Lol
@Winged_Victory4@taste_of_tbone Asking someone to request an accommodation is actually not ableism. Yondr let my friend keep her phone when she showed them the app she needed to access. Sometimes you just need to ask for what you need lol
@ASmithqfrg@farazamiruddin Neither do I but it’s pretty easy when you live in a city and have a grocery store underneath your apartment. Love my walkability
