From the cradle to the Qabr

From the cradle,
to the first time you crawl,
then to Nursery,
where you begin to learn and grow.

From childhood to adolescence,
from school to the University,
until the day you graduate
and step into the world of work.

Then comes marriage,
a family of your own,
children who call you Dad,
and years spent building a life.

You grow older.
Your children grow too.
Your hair begins to turn grey,
your strength slowly fades,
and eventually, you retire.

Then comes the final journey—
the journey none of us can escape.

The Qabr.

It doesn't matter how long
you spend in each phase.
Some leave the cradle early.
Some never make it to school.
Some graduate young,
others find success much later.
Some marry early,
some never marry.
Some live to old age,
while others return to their Lord much sooner.

We may differ in how long
we remain at each stage,
but we all have an appointed time.

And when that time comes,
the world continues without us.

Our possessions remain.
Our positions remain.
Our titles remain.
But we return to Allah—
alone, carrying only what we sent ahead.

Until the day we visit the Qabr.

May Allah grant us a meaningful life,
a life filled with obedience to Him,
purpose, good deeds and sincere faith.

May He bless our journey through every stage,
forgive our shortcomings,
and when our appointed time arrives,
may He allow us to return to Him
as sincere and righteous Muslims.

اللهم أحسن خاتمتنا، وتوفنا وأنت راضٍ عنا.
