We had the opportunity to had insightful interaction with Ambassador Shri Brajendra Navnit, Permanent Representative of India to WTO, DPR Shri Ninad Deshpande, and various other Indian officials posted at PMI, Geneva.
We were grateful for getting the opportunity to interact with Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala @NOIweala DG, WTO. She is the seventh Director-General of the WTO and the first woman and the first African to serve as Director-General.
We had an engaging session at ACWL on the legal services provided by their organization to developing countries on various legal aspects related to WTO, including legal assistance in dispute settlement body.
WTO is d core institution for multilateralism. Joining it, opened doors 4 India's trade, boosting exports & attracting investment, bt also exposed its industries 2 fierce competition. While navigating this trade-off, India actively shapes global rules to benefit its development.
As part of an intensive training program in the arena of international trade, ITS officers are provided exposure visits to international organizations like WTO, UNCTAD, ACWL, South Centre, and Permanent Mission of India, Geneva.
Officers of Central Power Engineering Service and Indian Trade Service called on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The President urged Central Power Engineering Service officers to focus on increasing energy efficiency which would make it easier to achieve the climate change related goals.
She said that India is committed to digital and sustainable trade facilitation and Indian Trade Service officers are going to play key role in trade promotion.

SEEPZ SEZ : customs clearance of goods imported in & exported from the SEZs takes place at d premises of d SEZs itself. We got d opportunity 2 understand d ins & outs of this system at SEEPZ SEZ.
We were also taken aboard a container vessel which was unloading the cargo at that time. The captain and the first officer were generous enough to show as the various instruments, maps, processes that they use to safely navigate the container ships in the seas.
We were also informed by the officials of the significance of international settlement of trade in INR and use of CBDR in the future in settlement of overseas trade.
Visited RBI office, where we had an interesting interaction with the RBI officials in relation to the working of IDPMS and EDPMS portals which are involved in the process of realisation of export proceeds by the exporters. #Mumbai Attachment
The two weeks attachment at NACIN, Mumbai was a great learning experience regarding the Customs procedures followed across ports and airports. We were also acquainted with Customs Act& Allied Acts, ICEGATE Portal, RMS, eSanchit, Faceless assessment, etc.
NACIN, Mumbai concluded a 2 week training program for the Indian Trade Service (ITS) probationers on 'Capacity Building in Customs and Indirect Taxes' on 01.09.2023

Completed a 4 day training course in Reserve Bank Staff College, Chennai. The course included FEMA Regulations, Trade Finance, BOP mechanism, FOREX markets,Money Laundering in trade and a visit to Foreign Exchange Dept of Indian Overseas Bank. #ITS#UPSC
