Destination far time is flying no be small
People worship money but we pray to God no be so
Tryna chase my dreams Lagos traffic make it slow
@Olamide
If your money ain't working for you then you're poor.
I mean you should buy time with it on a regular, life should be easier in someway that the average person doesn't understand how it works but you do.
I disagree! What is doing larger harm to the Nigerian music industry is the long list of artistes leaving their record deals before the expiration of their contract (Kiss Daniel, Seyi Vibez, Shallipopi, Muyeez, TegaBoi DC, Qing Madi etc). A google search will show the history of Nigerian artistes reneging on deals once they hit mainstream.
I know a guy from Igbuzo in Delta State who started a record label. He signed an artiste, bought him a car, rented him an apartment in Lekki, wardrobe allowance and monthly stipend, recording sessions and music videos paid for but the artiste never hit mainstream and all that investment went down the drain.
If he had struck gold the same artistes may have walked away from the contract and come on social media to gaslight the label using emotional appeal meanwhile the record label boss is the one who had to bear the loss today as the said artiste never recouped any of the investment.
There will be capital flight or fright if investors think they are taking on too much counterparty risk and the current crop of Nigerian artistes are not helping matters. Record labels are not charities or nonprofit organizations.
I finally created that space and if you miss it you’re wrong.
UCC was created for the creatives who didn’t know exactly how to break into the industry by themselves. The truth is, we need each other. We just need to connect more.
It’s happening on Saturday the 25th of April!
