Political parties have a responsibility to challenge INEC’s results, but they often wait for the commission to deliver them. With structures across the 176 polling units, parties should be able to obtain authenticated results within hours rather than depend on INEC in court. If INEC knows it is being monitored and that political parties are compiling alternative credible results, it will be more careful.
