@RealDianeYap@leavening_agent Your poll specifically asked about depth of connection. A man looking for a one night stand has zero interest in connection. You are drawing incorrect conclusions from a poll you created because you don’t like the answer.
Grew up in the 90’s on a UK council estate; the 7.50 weekly bus ticket was money I had to seriously budget. Similar experience. We often shopped on the end of the Tesco aisle where they sold the going out of date food, and would sometimes run out of electricity credit before having enough to walk to the corner shop for a top up. I remember it too.
Quite accurate I think. Even the millennials with kids are not willing or ready to adopt a being old (er) framework, just exhausted trying to be both a parent and a youngster. Our parents didn’t attempt to be both, they became parents and settled into that role. Few (in my exposure) had hobbies, and perhaps more importantly didn’t feel like they were failing by not retaining their youthful behaviors: I think there’s an inner friction and stress being experienced that didn’t exist before at this level. I’m not claiming it’s unhealthy either, just new.
