An inside look at the process of supporting democracy. I'm one of 87 District Electoral Officers (DEOs) who 'make the election happen' in B.C. every four years!

Over 90+ days in 2017, I posted my experience as DEO for @ElectionsBC Considering applying? Read from the bottom up, to learn about the job!

Wrapped up out in the Electoral Districts last week, and now wrapped at headquarters, as well. Job well done, all around!! #BCelexn2017 https://t.co/pqfQP0kyZs

A N D...that's a wrap, my beauties! I hope the past three months of posts about the life of a DEO have been as interesting to read as write!

Once an election cycle begins, when do DEOs get rest? WHEN IT’S OVER! (Votes tallied? Check! EO’s paid? Check! Office empty? Check!) Ahhhh!

[Jackie Asante @ItsADEOsLife]

Oops! How about once more, with feeling? Er…with PHOTO! Congratulations to @John_Yap – successful candidate in the #RST ED! #BCelxn2017

Since 1991 I've been honoured to work with @ElectionsBC and to serve the voters of the Richmond-Steveston Electoral District #BestEDinBC

May 31 ("Day 50" on the DEO Electoral Calendar) is the day all Writs must be returned to Elections BC - and the work of governing moves on!

[Jackie Asante @ItsADEOsLife]

Can't wrap up before passing on kudos to our successful RST candidate! I declared @John_Yap as electoral district winner after Final Count!

[Jackie Asante @ItsADEOsLife]

Speaking of dependable people, my HUGE thanks to Ravi, who heads security for DDS. He was ALWAYS there with a watchful eye, keeping us safe!

[Jackie Asante @ItsADEOsLife]

And, for those who don't know Radar, here's a short clip. (He knew everything he needed to do, before being told!) https://t.co/nFnP1hC09j

[Jackie Asante @ItsADEOsLife]

When we met, Don asked: "what role do I play?" I told him: "Please be my 'Radar O'Reilly'!" I've spent the last few months, leaning on him!

The most important relationship in this work is the one between a DEO & their Deputy. Don L, thank you for being the BEST Deputy DEO EVER!!

[Jackie Asante @ItsADEOsLife]

Well...this is it my friends! One more day of posts, then it's back to my former life (after a wee break!) A few final thoughts to come...

[Jackie Asante @ItsADEOsLife]

Let's wrap today w another song for the 2017 Election EDM set. Something I love about each event are the MEMORIES! https://t.co/3G0XAWwoTy

A second #TBT to only 44 short days ago! This amazing crew (plus Pony, Amy & Jill) 'made the election happen' in RST! #BestEDinBC #superteam

[Jackie Asante @ItsADEOsLife]

Here's a quick look back on #TBT. Like all DEOs, my position is appointed, but for a limited time. In 6 months I'll get a letter like THIS!

[Jackie Asante @ItsADEOsLife]

Only our EBC materials left to return! But before we go, my HEARTFELT thanks to Clarence W & the DDS Wireless team! (Best 'landlords' EVER!)

Mummy bird was spooked, seeing me standing nearby, but my patience was rewarded - she swooped in to feed her noisy chicks! #bugsfordinner
