I really enjoyed this short “Veils” @RMFF2022. The director also doubled as the writer and actress in the film and I thought she excelled in every single department. I’m so happy I got to see such a beautiful work about a lesbian couple that isn’t sensationalized

レズビアン作品(特に日本)は大体当事者不在感があるものが多く、エロか不幸やバッドエンドとして"消費"されていることが多い中で、そういうことがなく両作品とも最初から最後まで安心して観られて、同性同士の未来への肯定的なメッセージ性もあり大変ありがたかったです。

英単語として正しくは、複数形まで発音する“べールズ"ですが

They say “seeing is believing” and that’s why representation in queer cinema is so important. You get pulled into a world that is different yet similar to yours. And it truly, genuinely has the power to save and change lives

Yesterday I went to @RMFF2022 a film festival that spotlights queer films about same-sex marriage. There was a competition in which our documentary “it’s just our family” won the Grand-Prix award and also won some money. I’m really grateful for this event, & for this honor

Im very excited about the queer indie film scene. Cinema is so powerful and yesterday I got to see so many amazing films, I was genuinely shocked. I really think that bigger production companies should invest more into this space because every film from this list was visionary
