A dark-money nonprofit called Build American AI, linked to a super PAC backed by executives at OpenAI and Andreessen Horowitz, is paying lifestyle influencers up to $5,000 per video to spread pro-AI messaging and stoke fears about China’s technological rise, WIRED reports.

Influencers received sample scripts warning that Chinese AI dominance could expose Americans’ personal data and eliminate U.S. jobs. Most labeled posts as ads but did not disclose the funding source.

“This is literally propaganda,” Queens College media studies professor Jamie Cohen told WIRED. “They’re not disclosing the agenda underneath it.” Story is linked below 👇
