6/ Balancing focused work with relaxation, practicing regularly, and testing yourself are key strategies I'm exploring to boost my learning and retention.
5/ Testing yourself is one of the best ways to solidify your knowledge. Mini-tests and recall exercises—looking at a page, looking away, and seeing what you can remember—help build strong neural connections, enhancing your understanding and mastery of the material.
4/ Consistent practice, like exercising within a few days of learning something new, can improve our ability to learn and remember. It primes our brain for better retention.
2/ Procrastination often comes from the pain our brain feels when faced with a challenging task. The Pomodoro method is a great way to combat this: work with focused attention for 25 minutes, then take a 5-minute break to relax. This cycle helps make daunting tasks manageable.
1/ Focused mode is all about concentration—like zooming in with a microscope to tackle specific problems. Diffuse mode is broader, more relaxed, letting your mind wander and form new connections.
TIL about broadcast storms ⛈️ Check out this Ethernet header—notice how it’s missing a TTL (Time To Live) field? That’s key. Without TTL, broadcast packets can endlessly loop in the network if there's a switch loop, flooding the network and bringing everything to a crawl !
