katara faced the monster responsible for her trauma with the power of the element kya sacrificed herself for. if you TRULY love katara as a character, you would never do her the disservice of downplaying this episode.
Let's get one thing clear: the Southern Raiders episode is NOT romantic. It's actually a point AGAINST Zutara. Zuko capitalizes on Katara's grief to deflect her anger for him onto someone else and gain her forgiveness. That's not love and understanding. It's manipulation.
like even fuck it being a “zutara” episode. tsr was about katara FACING her grief. her mother’s death is one of her defining moments. zuko just plays a supporting role in closing that traumatic chapter of her life.
