Israel is not only fighting for its own survival, but standing as the frontline defender of Western values—freedom, democracy, and the sanctity of life—against barbaric forces that seek to destroy them. Tragically, much of the West is faltering.
Shabbat Shalom. 🕯️
I’m not Jewish — I’m a German Catholic — but I stand with Israel, and I want to wish everyone celebrating a peaceful Sabbath and a restful weekend.
There’s something deeply moving about this weekly pause:
the candles, the challah, the quiet invitation to step out of the noise and into something sacred.
Even from the outside, it’s clear how much light and resilience live in these traditions.
As a Catholic and as a Zionist, I believe the Jewish people have every right to live in safety and freedom in their ancestral homeland.
Am Yisrael Chai is not just a slogan to me — it’s a statement of historical and moral truth that I fully support.
At the same time, the other messages on this image matter too.
I stand with Ukraine.
I want to see a free Iran.
And I hope for the day Elham is free.
None of these things cancel each other out.
Choosing love over hate means being able to hold more than one truth at once — to support Israel without apology, while still caring about the suffering and freedom of others.
So from one non-Jewish friend of the Jewish people:
may your Shabbat be peaceful.
May the light of those candles carry you through the weekend.
And may we all keep choosing love over hate, even when the world makes it difficult.
Shabbat Shalom.
Am Yisrael Chai.
Slava Ukraini.
Free Iran. Free Elham.

Wishing Everyone a Shabbat Shalom from Israel 🇮🇱

Hope it will be close to at least 9.
So let's do it.

A scam operation involving mostly Chinese nationals was busted right near the Philippine military’s headquarters.
On the night of October 12, Philippine immigration agents and the military raided a facility in Quezon City close to Camp Aguinaldo and arrested 76 foreign nationals: 74 Chinese and 2 from Myanmar. Officials say they were running online investment scams when agents walked in.
This wasn’t an isolated bust. Ten days earlier, a much larger raid in Zamboanga Sibugay province picked up 244 foreign nationals, mostly Chinese, at what authorities called the biggest POGO-related operation of the year, seizing around 3,000 phones and dozens of computers.
Between the two raids, roughly 320 foreign nationals have now been arrested.Because the Quezon City site sat so close to Camp Aguinaldo, the AFP is investigating whether the facility posed a broader national security risk, not just a scam operation.
Those arrested face deportation and a permanent blacklist from re-entering the Philippines. Investigators are also looking at possible violations under the Anti-POGO Act of 2025.
POGOs were formally banned in late 2024 and the ban was locked in by law in 2025. These back-to-back raids show illegal operations have kept running anyway.
🇮🇱 ISRAEL UNVEILS NEW DRONE-KILLING DEFENSE SYSTEM
Israel Aerospace Industries has unveiled HawkGuard, a compact active-defense system built to detect and destroy attacking drones and other low-altitude aerial threats.
HawkGuard combines radar, electro-optical sensors and AI-enabled command-and-control with interceptor drones that physically smash into their targets.
No warhead. No explosive payload.
The kinetic interceptors are designed to eliminate drones while reducing blast effects and the risk of secondary explosions.
The system can operate on moving armored vehicles or protect fixed sites, strategic infrastructure and offshore assets — and can engage aerial threats at ranges of up to 1 kilometer.
IAI says HawkGuard has already completed a successful series of trials demonstrating detection, tracking and neutralization of multiple types of drone threats.
Another layer is being added to Israel’s rapidly evolving anti-drone shield.

Indonesia is choking on smoke
The country has recorded more than 270,000 cases of respiratory infections caused by fires.
Smoke from the fires contains harmful substances that “can cause respiratory illnesses, coughing and shortness of breath, and worsen asthma.”
🚨 MASSIVE CYBERATTACK SABOTAGES 500+ FRENCH SUPERMARKETS
Hackers remotely hijacked refrigeration systems, raising temperatures to 50°C (122°F), extending defrost cycles from 1 to 8 hours, destroying tonnes of food and reportedly triggering fires.
Intermarché, Netto, Carrefour, https://t.co/dLDVf2VL6y, Monoprix and Coopérative U were hit. Older Danfoss controllers were compromised, followed by attacks on Dixell equipment.
Losses reportedly run into tens of millions of euros. French cyber authorities are investigating. No suspects, ransom demands or motives identified.

Taiwan Pushes Back Against China’s Sanctions
After Beijing sanctioned officials in Paraguay and Belize over ties with Taiwan, its premier vowed to deepen democratic alliances, saying China has no right to interfere in Taiwan’s foreign relations.
Kota Island is part of the Municipality of Kalayaan, Palawan. The waters within 12 nautical miles of it are Philippine territorial sea. No foreign vessel has any right to fish there under international law, the Philippine Fisheries Code, or the Philippine Maritime Zones Act.
China's own "domestic law" does not change any of this!
China's claim of "sovereign rights and jurisdiction over the relevant waters" was rejected in the 2016 Arbitral Award, which is final and binding.
Calling the area "Nansha Qundao" does not make it Chinese, and bringing up fishermen from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao does not make an intrusion legal.
Normal fishing doesn't happen 250 meters from the shoreline of an island where Filipino personnel are stationed. It doesn't come with a maritime militia mothership, CMMV 9622, deploying 22 sampans and dumping waste at sea.
This is the same vessel we repelled from Kota Island on 28 September. It came back less than two weeks later with more aggressive behavior.
Evidently, this is a coordinated militia operation, not a fishing trip!
Taiwan urges the United States and China to respect the historical record of World War II and the Taiwanese people's right to exist, President Lai Ching-te said Saturday in his National Day address.

EDITORIAL: What Is DICT’s Cybersecurity Bureau Doing?
October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, but government’s biggest cybersecurity problem may not be technology. It is accountability.
Every time a government website is defaced or a system is breached, the response sounds familiar: the incident has been contained, systems are safe and an investigation is ongoing.
Then public follow-through becomes difficult to find. What vulnerability was exploited? Was it fixed? Were other agencies checked for the same weakness?
Cybersecurity must also be separated from cybercrime. Cybersecurity is about protecting systems, managing vulnerabilities and preventing or limiting attacks. Cybercrime deals with offenses and the people behind them. CICC belongs primarily to the cybercrime side. Government cybersecurity sits with DICT.
DICT already has a Cybersecurity Bureau tasked with implementing the National Cybersecurity Plan 2023-2028 and overseeing NCERT. So the question is no longer whether government has a plan or an organization.
What exactly is the problem?
Is it a shortage of cybersecurity talent? Are government systems outdated? Is there insufficient funding? Are agencies failing to fix known vulnerabilities? Or does the Cybersecurity Bureau simply lack enough authority to make agencies comply?
Those are the questions government should answer.
PhilHealth, DOST, the Senate, House, DMW and DOLE have suffered cybersecurity incidents. More embarrassing, even a DICT staging website was defaced as Cybersecurity Awareness Month opened.
Government once heavily promoted CyberDome. Today, we barely hear about it. Cybersecurity cannot be another PR campaign that disappears with the headlines.
The talent, system and infrastructure gaps may all be real. But government first needs to identify which gap is actually causing repeated failures, who is responsible for fixing it and whether the Cybersecurity Bureau has the power and resources to do the job.
This Cybersecurity Awareness Month, DICT should tell us plainly: What is wrong with government cybersecurity, and what is the Cybersecurity Bureau doing about it?

BREAKING:
The riots are spreading from France to Belgium.
Young second and third-generation migrants have joined forces with Antifa for today’s riots in Brussels
What has been happening in France is also happening in the UK, Germany, Belgium, Spain, the Netherlands, and the U.S.! Importing millions of invaders from cultures incapable of assimilating and incompatible with the host country’s traditional values does not create integration! Nearly half of France’s population are Muslims from North Africa and Syria! @paulmeanalysis is right on the money!
It creates parallel societies where the invaders will outnumber, displace, and violently clash with the indigenous population! This process began in Europe and the U.S. decades ago and has accelerated Western Europe’s cultural extinction with each new wave of hostile invaders! Without mass deportations to reverse this catastrophe, Islamic caliphate conquest of western civilization is inevitable!
Many of these invasive species infesting Western countries are second- and third-generation waving foreign flags as they riot and plunder with zero loyalty to the country that accepted them! Eastern European countries such as Poland, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic sealed their borders despite EU objections and are now Europe’s safest, most beautiful nations, free of the terrorist attacks, rape gangs, and violent riots seen daily elsewhere!
